Class Representative Elections

In May, elections for the 2011-2012 Student Council Officer positions took place here at Gombert.  Congratulations again to our president, Libby, Vice President, Riley, Secretary, Abby C., and Treasurer, Abby M. for winning your positions!  We are looking forward to a great school year!

On Friday, October 14th, permission slips to run for Student Council class representatives went home with all interested 4th and 5th grade students.

Student Council is embracing a "NEW" look this year and will only be open to 4th and 5th grade students with 2 representatives and 1 alternate from each class.

Below you will find some helpful tips for speeches and classroom elections for the 2011-2012 school year.

Guidelines for Speeches/Classrom Elections:
1. Complete and turn in a parent permission slip to be involved in the 2011-2012 Student Council class representative elections. (see below)

*Click on the permission slip below to enlarge and print!

2. Give a short speech (1-2 minutes) to your class about why you would like to be involved in Student Council for the 2011-2012 school year.  Be sure to include reasons why you would make a good class representative and possible REALISTIC ideas you have for making Gombert a better place.

3. All class representatives will be chosen by the afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 19th.

The first Student Council meeting for the 2011-2012 school year will be help on Thursday, Oct. 20th from 3:35-4:15 in Mrs. Njos's classroom.  Permission slips to attend this meeting will be sent home in backpack mail the day before.

All future Student Council meetings will be help on Monday mornings (dates are still TBD) from 8:10-8:50 in Mrs. Njos's classroom.

GOOD LUCK to all potential class representatives!
