Quarter 3 - Service Project "Choose Kindness"

Student Council's 3rd quarter service project is focused on KINDNESS.  The 5th grade students at Gombert have been reading the book, Wonder by R.J. Palacio in anticipation of seeing the author speak on Monday, February 4th.

The 5th grade students and Student Council has decided to join the "Kindness Campaign" and promote kindness amongst our fellow gators.

Signs have been posted about choosing kindness, Safety Patrol members are on "patrol" for students choosing kindness and passing out stickers, students and teachers are completing random acts of kindness, and everyone is encourage to go online and sign the Kindness pledge:
I pledge to myself on this day,
To try and be kind in every way.
To every person big and small,
I will help them if they fall.
When I love myself and others too,
That is the best that I can do.

Click here to sign the online Kindness pledge yourself!

Wednesday, February 6th, Student Council is sponsoring a "Wonder Day" for the 5th grade students at lunch.  Students will be discussing the book and taking time during lunch/recess to sign the Kindness Pledge.

Also, listen for precepts shared in morning announcements, watch for phrases of kindness to appear on the school sign in the front of the school, and wait for names from our kindness bulletin baord to be selected to win a FREE autographed copy of the book Wonder!
